Training On Carbon Markets
This course targeted policy makers, practitioners, policy makers,
decision makers at international, national, and local levels, businesses and private sector, NGO and civil society organization representatives and youth and educators. A total of 39 participants took part in the training. These included representatives of NETFUND Board of Trustees, KETRACO, KENGEN, GDC, KWS, State Department of Forests, JICA, KFS, KALRO, NAVCDP, Moi University, Laikipia University, Chuka University, Greenstar, Jimana Ltd, Stcom Ltd, NHC, KEBS, KoTDA,
EPZA, and TBK.
The course included power point presentations, a few guest speakers. This provided useful real-world insights alongside the more theoretical aspects of the course. The modules were taught through lectures and included case study/field visits, breakout sessions and other interactive discussion components. The teaching faculty consisted of experienced decision makers, as well as practitioners and representatives from established educational and research institutions active around emissions trading, climate policy, carbon market analysts and industry representatives. Throughout the course theoretical presentation of concepts were moderated and more group discussions and plenary engagements were optimized.
