We Focus on Four Key Areas

We offer regular courses and tailor-made courses depending on the training needs. The Institute conducts regular syllabus reviews for all its courses to ensure that they remain relevant and also embrace emerging technological changes and advancements.

We employ the competency-based training approach guided by pre and post-course evaluation and market demands. We offer technical, knowledge, and green skills-based courses covering climate change, policy, finance, sustainability, governance, technology and research, projects, and human resource development and mentorship among other specialized areas.

RESEARCH

The research program seeks to bridge the gap and strengthen the nexus between research- policy- practices. We focus on specific themes and methodological issues such as assessments, and sustainability across such sectors as climate change, waste, agriculture, energy, forestry, water and blue economy, industry and circular economy, and chemicals and pollution.

POLICY ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT

The program seeks to support the effective implementation of International, regional, national, and sub-national policies, laws, and action plans. It is specifically designed to strengthen climate change, environment, energy, forests, water, biodiversity, land, and waste governance. It provides space and facilitates science-practice-policy dialogue to unpack policy options. ECAS is a contributor to policy processes and partner activities that lead towards informing the Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC, CBD, IPBES, AMCEN, and Devolution Conference among other global, regional, and national policy platforms.

The ECAS Institute not-for-profit organization registered in Nairobi Kenya.  We design and deliver training, research, policy, advocacy programmes, and consulting services. We provide practical experience, technical expertise, and policy advice on climate adaptation, climate finance, circular economy, sustainable energy, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable forest management, nature-based solutions, and sustainability.

We are located in Nairobi Kenya and work across the African region. We have implemented assignments and activities in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Somalia, Malawi, Rwanda, Congo, and South Africa. Globally, we have supported our partners from the UK, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Germany, and USA.
